The Best Time of Year to Visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Ask ten different guests when the "best" time to visit Biloxi is, and you'll likely get ten different answers depending on what they're actually looking for. Summer brings the warmest water and the busiest pool deck. Winter brings the quietest gaming floor and the lowest room rates. Most of the time, though, the sweet spot sits somewhere in between.

Spring (March – May)

Spring is when the Gulf Coast starts to wake back up. Water temperatures are still a little cool for long swims early in the season, but by April the pool deck is comfortable and the crowds haven't caught up to summer levels yet. Room rates during March and early April tend to sit noticeably below peak summer pricing, which makes spring a strong pick for guests who want warm weather without the July price tag.

Summer (June – August)

Summer is peak season on this stretch of coast, and for good reason — the water is warm, the pool deck runs at full capacity, and the event calendar fills up with live music and culinary nights. The tradeoff is exactly what you'd expect: higher rates, busier restaurants, and cabanas that book out days in advance on weekends. If you're set on a summer trip, booking your room and any cabana rental at least three to four weeks out is worth doing.

Fall (September – November)

Fall is arguably the most underrated stretch of the year here. Water temperatures stay swimmable well into October, the pool deck is noticeably quieter than August, and rates start easing back down after Labor Day. September does carry some hurricane-season risk, which is worth keeping an eye on if you're booking that far out, but October and early November are consistently mild.

September through mid-October is when our own staff tends to book personal trips elsewhere on the coast — the weather is still good and everything is quieter.

Winter (December – February)

Winter brings the lowest room rates of the year and a noticeably slower pace around the resort. The outdoor pool deck closes for the season, but the indoor pool, spa, and gaming floor run at full operation year-round, which makes winter a good fit for guests more interested in the spa and dining side of the resort than the beach itself.
