Sunset Sailing and Other Gulf Coast Excursions Worth Booking

Guests staying with us tend to ask the concierge desk the same question in slightly different words: "what should we actually book while we're here?" Here's the honest short list, organized by how much time each one takes out of your day.

Sunset Sailing Charter

A two-hour sail departing from Point Cadet Marina, timed to put you on the water as the sun drops behind the barrier islands. It's the single most-requested excursion among our guests, and for good reason — it's short enough to fit before a dinner reservation and doesn't require any sailing experience.

Half-Day Inshore Fishing Charter

A four-hour trip targeting redfish and speckled trout in the calmer inshore waters behind the barrier islands. Charters typically include gear and bait, and most captains will clean your catch if you'd like to have it prepared at one of the resort's dining rooms that evening.

Ship Island Ferry

A roughly hour-long ferry ride out to Ship Island, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, with a genuinely different beach experience than the mainland — clearer water, real waves, and far fewer people. It runs seasonally, so check current schedules before planning a full day around it.

Ship Island is the one excursion worth building your whole day around rather than squeezing in — plan on being gone from roughly 9 AM to 4 PM once you factor in the ferry schedule.

Casino Cruise Photography Tour

A shorter, land-based option for guests who'd rather stay dry — a guided walking and driving tour covering Beach Boulevard's landmarks and a few of the coast's less obvious photo spots, running about ninety minutes.

Booking Through the Resort

Our concierge desk can arrange any of the above directly and knows which operators run on schedule versus which tend to shift departure times. If you have a dinner reservation or spa appointment later in the day, mention it when booking so timing works out comfortably.
